RFMS and the App Universe

Over recent times we have seen the availability of apps grow exponentially; it seems that there is an app for everything.

If you have seen the need to add apps to your business tools, or if you have identified an area in your business that might benefit from a particular app, let us know. If you have implemented RFMS there is a very high likelihood RFMS already has some functionality that might achieve the goal you have identified for a non-RFMS app.

Of course the benefit of an app is that it is purpose-built for a particular function, and apps appear to be function-rich and very slick. Some apps are very cool. The disadvantage to the RFMS user is on introducing an app into the business workflow the integration provided by RFMS is broken. Also, you start to create silos of data; information must now be entered into the app and then, at some point, moved from the app, back into RFMS. As good as the app might be, these are significant disadvantages to your business, introducing inefficiencies, and opportunity for error and omission that are minimised in the fully integrated RFMS environment.

If you feel the need to invest in an app to supplement your business processes, talk to us first. In most cases there will be a workflow within RFMS that you can implement to achieve the same end. It might not have exactly the bells and whistles of an app, but it will do the job, it will preserve system integration, and it will be less cost.

Of course RFMS has invested heavily over the past few years to develop the Measure Mobile and RFMS Mobile apps. If you are not familiar with these, let me know (cogden@rfms.com) and I will be happy to show you these and discuss your business requirements.
